Police Reports

Copies of police reports may be obtained in person at the Chamblee Police Department Records Section Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Police reports are generally available two business days after the report is taken.

There is no charge to pick up a report in person if you are involved in the incident. Attorneys, solicitors and other parties will incur a $5.00 fee.

Accidents Reports/Incident Reports:

To receive a report via U.S. mail, send a stamped, self addressed envelope with your request to Chamblee Police Department, Records Section at 4445 Buford Highway, Chamblee, GA 30341 or you may fax (770-986-5022). Include the case number, date of incident, your name and contact information. There is no charge for one copy of an initial report if you are involved in the incident. Attorneys, solicitors and other parties will incur a $5.00 fee.

Open Records Requests & Other Report Requests:

Under the Georgia Open Records Act, all public records are available for inspection and copying unless they are specifically exempted from disclosure under the law. If a government agency or custodian of public records withholds a public document from production under an Open Records Request, they must cite to the provision of Georgia law that exempts the record from being produced.
