UPDATE (February 26, 2024): Chamblee City Council voted to approve the adoption of the resolution requesting the Georgia General Assembly to place a referendum on the November 5, 2024, general ballot providing an opportunity for residents of the Embry Hills/Mercer Area to vote on annexation into the City of Chamblee. 
UPDATE (Feb 7, 2024):
Chamblee Mayor Brian K. Mock, together with the Embry Hills Civic Association, will host two town hall listening sessions with area residents on the topic of annexation.

The first will be held Monday, February 12th at 6:30pm at Chamblee Tucker Christian Fellowship, 3147 Chamblee Tucker Rd. The second will be held Monday, February 26th at 6:30pm at Chamblee City Hall, 3518 Broad Street.

While all area citizens are welcome at both, the first session will be geared towards those seeking annexation into the city, while the second will be more informational towards existing Chamblee citizens.
UPDATE (Dec 11, 2023): The City of Chamblee has reviewed the contents in the proposed annexation application and has discovered technical deficiencies. The City has done its due diligence in examining the application and has informed the applicant. The applicant has requested to withdraw its application. The public hearing on the proposed annexation and the public hearing on the rezoning of the proposed annexation area which was previously scheduled for December 14th has been canceled. 
On October 31, 2023, the City of Chamblee accepted an application and petition for the proposed annexation of Mercer University's Atlanta Campus, Embry Hills Neighborhood and Belaire Circle into the City limits. The proposed annexation will add an additional 1115 registered voters and 2400 people, increasing the City’s population to over 32,400 residents.  The City of Chamblee has provided a summary outline of the city services for the proposed annexed areas.
