Annexation
On October 31, 2023, the City of Chamblee accepted an application and petition for the proposed annexation of Mercer University's Atlanta Campus, Embry Hills Neighborhood and Belaire Circle into the City limits. The proposed annexation will add an additional 1115 registered voters and 2400 people, increasing the City’s population to over 32,400 residents. The City of Chamblee has provided a summary outline of the city services for the proposed annexed areas. Click here to review the proposed plans.

Annexation Process
- 10/31/23: Accept Application
- 10/31/23: Notify County and School Board
- 11/3/23: Map and Service Plan will be posted at City Hall and on Website
- 11/24/23: Notices mailed to all addresses within the proposed annexed area
- 12/14/23: Public Hearing on the proposed annexation
- 12/19/23: Annexation application considered by City Council
- 1/1/24: If approved by Council, effective date of annexation
