About City Events
Atlanta United Watch Party - March/September: As our favorite TV show, Ted Lasso, reminds us: “Futbol is liffee!” The City of Chamblee, in partnership with Plaza Fiesta, hosts the Atlanta United Watch Party. Enjoy the first away match of Atlanta United FC on the jumbotron, grab a bite from one of the vendors outside or inside of Plaza Fiesta (you can even do some shopping), play some interactive soccer games, and join us as we unite and conquer. The ATL UTD Watch Party is typically held in March. For more information, visit atlantaunitedwatchparty.net.
Chamblee Restaurant Week - April: Whether it’s takeout, delivery, indoor dining, or patio dining, Chamblee Restaurant Week (CRW) lets you dine your way. CRW includes seven days filled with tasty deals and treats from restaurants across the city. Restaurants provide specialized menu items, food/drink specials, or create a fixed price menu to provide patrons with a new dining experience they cannot get any other time of the year. Restaurant week is typically held in April. For more information, visit chambleerestaurantweek.net.
GA Cities Week - April: GA Cities Week is hosted by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) and is an opportunity for cities to share information about the valuable services provided to residents, gives an inside look to city operations, highlight community projects and infrastructure and is an opportunity to connect with residents. For an entire week, the City of Chamblee has an event planned each day. Previous events include car seat safety checks and self-defense classes with the Police Department, free special pick up program with Public Works, rain barrel workshops and plogging in the park with Parks and Recreation, and Meet the City with the City Manager’s Office and all city departments. Typically held the last week in April, information for GA Cities week can be found on the city’s website and social media beginning in March.
Chamblee Summer Concert Series - June/July/August: The Chamblee Summer Concert Series (CSCS) attracts over 15,000 people a year and is a gathering for all ages and has become truly one of the signature summer events in DeKalb County. Live music from cover bands, party bands, and your favorite bands of the 80’s and 90’s that topped the Billboard Charts have appeared on the CSCS stage. Concerts are typically held on the first Friday of June, the Fourth of July (with fireworks), and the first Friday of August. For more information, visit chambleerocks.net.
Taste of Chamblee - October: For 16 years Taste of Chamblee (ToC) has celebrated the diverse restaurant community and college football (of course!). From Mexican to Indonesian cuisines and everything in between, ToC is a food festival that has bites for even the pickiest eaters. Food vendors line Broad Street and Peachtree Road as the SEC and ACC football games are played on large jumbo screens in beer gardens. ToC is also for the wine lovers; grab a seat at the Wine Down Tent, enjoy the music, and sip some rosé while the kids play in the KidsZone. It’s true, ToC has something for everyone and is held each October. For more information, visit tasteofchamblee.net.
Holiday Hoopla - December: Celebrate the holidays with Chamblee as the front of City Hall is adorned with holiday decorations and local businesses host open houses and special holiday sales. In past years, families enjoyed pictures with Santa, menorah and tree lighting ceremonies, holiday performances, crafts, tasty treats, a gelt drop, snowball fights, and – of course – shopping with Economic Development’s Shop Chamblee campaign! Holiday Hoopla is typically held the first Sunday in December, so stay tuned to chambleecelebrates.net to see how we will be celebrating in 2023.
Live on Your Block: New in 2023 is a series of six small scale events called, Live on Your Block. Located in various pocket parks and greenspaces, neighbors are invited to enjoy live music, watch a movie, or participate in a field day throughout the year.
