Have you ever thought about ways to improve transportation in Chamblee? Now is your opportunity to have your voice heard on this topic. Join us on Wednesday, September 26th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the North DeKalb Senior Center, 3393 Malone Drive, for a kick-off meeting on the multi-modal transportation plan for Chamblee and to share your thoughts and concerns.
The city has many competing transportation infrastructure priorities; however, there is not a comprehensive tool to define and prioritize the current and future needs. City staff has determined the importance of developing a single plan to define and prioritize projects to maximize infrastructure investments for the community. This guiding plan will contribute to some larger objectives, such as higher levels of mobility, safety and mode choice, reducing congestion, improving quality of life, attracting businesses and having an efficient freight system.
Other topics include the conceptual plans for the third phase of the Rail Trail and the future autonomous shuttle planned for downtown Chamblee, funded through the Smart Communities Challenge.
