Housing Study

The City of Chamblee has partnered with the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) and RKG Associates to conduct a comprehensive housing study to examine the housing inventory, housing market, and housing needs to develop a policy that reflects the needs and priorities of all members of the community.

The City anticipates the following outcomes from the study to be:

• Data Analysis of the housing market within the City of Chamblee including impacts of external factors such as transportation and existing land use.
• Education to the community on Chamblee’s housing opportunities and challenges.
• Guidance for development types and strategies for construction, rehabilitation, and financing for affordable housing.
• Identification of key redevelopment sites and strategies to activate them.
• The final product is expected to transcend planning-level analyses that outlines a formal strategy to institute a housing program.

The need for the City to undergo a full Housing Study was a recommended project in the One Chamblee Comprehensive Plan, which was adopted in December, 2019.
