The City of Chamblee and the Downtown Development Authority have partnered to transform the historic downtown district into a more complete "town center", with new public spaces and amenities, public parking, and a mix of commercial and residential development. This redevelopment will be a public-private partnership to leverage existing public assets to create an attractive, market-based destination that will enhance the built environment, create jobs, improve mobility, and be sustainable through the years.

Seven Oaks Company, a skilled and experienced development firm, is the private sector company assisting Chamblee in this endeavor. 

Examples of other Georgia communities that have begun a similar transformation are Decatur, Duluth, Sugar Hill, and Sandy Springs.
