Georgia Cities Week

Cities across Georgia will celebrate Georgia Cities Week April 21-27, with the theme “True Colors." Throughout the week, the different activities will highlight Chamblee’s and other cities’ important role in creating community gathering spaces and driving economic development.

First Time for Chamblee

2015 was the first time Chamblee participated in GA Cities Week. The City worked with a group of active community members to come up with a plan of activities for GA Cities Week. This group involved Chamblee 101 graduates, Recreation Advisory Committee members and representatives from Keep Chamblee Beautiful, the Chamblee Chamber of Commerce and the Arts Chamblee.

Plogging in the Park, any park

  • Celebrate Earth Day by grabbing your tennis shoes, picking up a trash bag and jogging (or walking) one of our beautiful parks! Plogging, a play on the Swedish ‘plocka upp’ (meaning ‘pick up) and ‘jogging,’ is the act of picking up litter while running. Show your love of exercising and Chamblee by combining a jog with intermittent squatting - plogging offers exercise benefits - while supporting your community and the environment.
