About Probation Sentences
Depending upon the charges, the judge may sentence a defendant to a term of probation. Probation services for the City of Chamblee are subcontracted to a private company, Professional Probation Services, Inc.Defendants who are unable to pay their fine in court when it is assessed by the judge will also be placed on probation to allow for payments to be made. However, in these instances, the probation will generally end as soon as the fine is paid with a one-month minimum period.
If you are placed on probation, there is a $40 monthly probation fee. In addition to those fees, Georgia Law requires each probationer to pay $9 a month to the Georgia Crime Victims Emergency Fund for each month on probation. This fee is collected by Professional Probation Services, Inc. and submitted to the appropriate state agency on a monthly basis. If you are placed on probation at Chamblee Municipal Court and have further questions regarding probation contact Professional Probation Services, Inc. at 770-455-6880.
