Town Center Livable Centers Initiative (LCI)
10-Year Update for the Chamblee Town Center Livable Centers Initiative

The City of Chamblee updated its Town Center Master Plan with significant involvement from local property owners and residents.  Work on the plan began in August 2013 and was completed in January 2014.  The plan focuses on the community vision for Downtown, enhancing Chamblee's sense of place, increasing walkability, improving the Chamblee MARTA Station area, providing a higher quality of life, and efficiently allocating city resources within the area.

The City of Chamblee received a Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) grant from the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) to help fund the master plan effort.  The City built upon the original LCI plan (completed in 2001) by revising plan policies and strategies to respond to an evolving vision for the Chamblee Town Center and changing market conditions.  The project was a product of a public outreach effort that involved City Council, local business leaders and property owners, area residents, other key stakeholders and regional government agencies.  The study includes an assessment of market conditions, land use/development, and transportation facilities and report on area challenges and opportunities.  A five year action plan is included in the plan aimed at spurring appropriate development, increasing connectivity, and providing transportation options.
