June 3: Face to Face- The Billy Joel and Elton John Tribute Show

FaceToFace.jpg
Face to Face is the Ultimate Tribute to Sir Elton John and Billy Joel!

Taking turns at an onstage piano, the dual impersonators of the Billy Joel/Elton John Face-2-Face Tribute Show conjure the beloved songsters in both sound and image. Backed by his band The Stranger, Levittown, NY native Mike Santoro’s fingers flash up and down the keys before he jumps up to grab the mic to belt out such high-energy Billy Joel classics as “Uptown Girl” and “Only the Good Die Young.” For the second half of the show, Ronnie Smith dons the iconic sunglasses and bedazzled suits of Elton John as he charts his style from the ‘70s to the present. Bittersweet anthems such as “Rocket Man (I Think It’s Going to Be a Long, Long Time)” mix with more whimsical material such as “Crocodile Rock” and the fictional rock-group narrative “Bennie and the Jets.” During each engaging, interactive show, both acts aim to channel the spirit of their originals so well that audiences will forget they’re a tribute.

The Billy Joel Elton John Ultimate Tribute show is a night of hit songs, energetic performances, outrageous costumes, and true Rock N Roll at its finest! Chamblee will be rocking on June 3rd!

After 6 years together, DEPARTURE has become the most respected Journey tribute band in the nation.  DEPARTURE replicates the look, sound and feel of the original 80’s rock super group.  The five band members are the original line up and have developed an amazing on-stage chemistry. These veteran musicians pride themselves on giving their audience an incredible high-energy, qualitative stage show from start to finish. Featured lead vocalist, Brian Williams, has an amazing singing voice flawlessly matching Steve Perry’s vocal range and movements, exactly.  DEPARTURE also highlights the early Journey years, when Gregg Rolie was lead singer, featuring Joel Hayes on keys and lead vocals.  In 2009, Joel was named "Best Keyboardist in Atlanta" for his work representing Jonathan Cain and Gregg Rolie.  DEPARTURE performs over two hours with no break, highlighting all the hit songs that everyone knows and loves, to give the audience the true concert experience. Their performance is professional and highly engaging for their audience. DEPARTURE was voted “Best Local Entertainer” for 2011 and 2012 by Gwinnett Magazine.

August 5: The Molly Ringwalds

Molly.jpg

August 5th is 80's night in Chamblee! The Molly Ringwalds are The World's Greatest 80's Experience. Hailing from Sheffield, England, this legendary quintet has been able to combine their individual and very formidable talents to create the true essence of the most radical decade to ever be called "The 80's." The Molly Ringwalds create an 80's Experience by honing their abilities to apply make-up and tease their hair while showcasing all the musical genres of the decade. From their days of building a following at a pub located in a large portion of a big city near a small village located south of a place you've never heard of, to selling out large venues in the United States, The Molly Ringwalds are an indescribable act. Luck and circumstance brought these young lads together. The rest is the history of the 80's.

7:45pm: Have Gun, Will Travel

HGWT 2 (2).jpg

Florida’s HAVE GUN, WILL TRAVEL have a natural instinct for combining folk, pop,

rock and classic country influences to create a sound all their own. “Their music has a

great energy to it with infectious, sing-along choruses and refrains” remarked NPR’s
Robin Hilton. American Songwriter called HGWT’s music “organic, infectious Americana
Pop. Their music has a refreshing immediacy to it.”

HGWT’s music has been featured in a national Chevy TV commercial, as well as the
PBS series Roadtrip Nation, and CBS’s The Good Wife. Their live performances have
been described as rousing, rollicking, energetic and dynamic. Accompanied by the
sweeping lap steel of guitarist Scott Anderson, singer-songwriter Matt Burke
enthusiastically leads brother Danny Burke (bass) and JP Beaubien (drums) through a
collection of songs that run the gamut from foot-stomping front-porch spirituals and
evocative Texas swing to strum-punk rave-ups, hill-country historicals and more.

HAVE GUN, WILL TRAVEL's highly anticipated, fifth album Science from an Easy Chair
is slated for release this summer on THIS IS AMERICAN MUSIC. This full-length
concept album is based entirely on British explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton and his
1914-16 Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition. Produced by Shawn Kyle and recorded in
Tampa, Florida, Science... delivers its own interpretation of this amazing story of
survival and endurance. Along with HGWT's own distinctive instrumentation, the
musical framework of the album is rife with luscious string arrangements, crooning horn
sections, and rich percussion. The release commemorates the 100th anniversary of the
epic journey.
