Animal Control
A full time animal control officer patrols and enforces animal rules and regulations for the City of Chamblee and operates an animal holding facility.
The animal control officer also sets up and rents humane animal traps for the purpose of catching stray animals. The cost is $2.00 per day. If you need a trap, please call Animal Control to schedule a time to come out.
Cats and dogs are both required to wear a collar with a valid vaccination tag. A "Pooper Scooper" ordinance requires the owners of dogs to clean up after their pets in public areas. No animal is allowed to run unattended on the streets of the City. Furthermore, they are not allowed to roam onto other people's property without the property owner's permission.
Residents may keep three household pets per home, unless running a kennel with a valid business license. To contact the Animal Control Officer, please call (770) 986-5019.
