Chamblee's Parks and Recreation Department runs a variety of programs and special events geared to every member of the family.
Current Events & Activities:
Youth Tee Ball/Baseball:
Registration will begin on January 16 for tee ball for boys and girls ages three to four as of February 1, 2012. Registration fee is $40 for Chamblee residents and $80 for non-residents. Children have one practice each week and games on Saturday mornings. Practices will begin middle to late February and games will begin in early March. All activities will take place at Keswick Park. Registration will begin on January 16 for coach pitch baseball for boys and girls ages five to six (underhand) and seven to eight (overhand) as of February 1, 2012. The fee is $40 for Chamblee residents and $80 for non-residents. Children have one practice each week and games on Saturday mornings. Practices will begin middle to late February and games will begin in early March. All activities will take place in Keswick Park.

Registration begins on January 16 for soccer for boys and girls ages four to five and six to seven as of February 1, 2012. The registration fee is $60 for Chamblee residents and $90 for non-residents. Children have one practice each week and games on Saturday mornings. Practices will begin middle to late February and games will begin in early March. All activities will take place at Keswick Park. Registration begins on January 16 for soccer for boys and girls ages eight to nine, 10 to 11, 12 to 13, and 14 to 15 as of February 1, 2012. The registration fee is $60 for Chamblee residents and $90 for non-residents. Children have one practice each week and most games on Saturday mornings. Practices will begin middle to late February and games will begin in early March. All practices will take place at Keswick Park and most games will be at home, but there will be minimal travel for about 50 percent of the games.
Adult Softball:
Parks and Recreation offers both Co-ed and Men’s leagues for the registration price of $475 per team. Men’s league play will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays and Co-ed play on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Registration
begins on January 16 and league play will start in early March 2012.
Daddy-Daughter Dance:
The annual Parks and Recreation semi-formal dance for girls in eighth grade or younger to dance the night away with their dad (or granddads, uncles, etc.) will take place on Saturday, February 11, 2012. It includes a professional
portrait, good food and great music! Dads: brush up on your best moves! This reservation is good for one couple,
so just sign one person up to avoid being double-charged! If you have more than one lovely young lady to dance
with, please be sure to purchase extra tickets for just $5 each. Registration will begin on January 9, 2012.
Candlelight Yoga:
With the New Year upon us we could all use some de-stressing. Why not try candlelight yoga? The next Chamblee yoga series, taught by Maggie Anderson, owner of Atlanta Real Yoga (www.atlantarealyoga.com), starts Wednesday, January 11, 2012 and will run for 8 weeks. Classes are held at the Keswick Park Community Building from 6-7 p.m. Cost is $70 for 8 weeks of classes. You need to bring your own yoga mat. Note: You don't have to be a Chamblee resident to take the class! Stop by our office at 3540 Broad Street or call 770-986-5016 to register by phone. Age eligibility date for the spring season is February 1st and for the fall season it is August 1st. (Ex. If your child turns 4 on Feb. 2, they cannot participate in soccer until the following season) Registration for the spring season takes place in January for soccer and February for baseball. Registration for the fall season takes place in July for soccer and August for baseball.
Each year the City hosts a Day Camp for children ages 6-12. The Camp runs for ten weeks throughout the summer with an affordable weekly per child registration fee. Camp Chamblee also offers a Spring Break Camp as well as Winter Camp dates.
Events for the Entire Family:
- Annual Chamblee 5K and Rotary Roll- A 5K race for runners/walkers and also wheelchair participants held in the spring.
- Independence Day Celebration - Featuring activities for kids and adults, food vendors, live music, and an elaborate fireworks show in Keswick Park
