Licenses
Occupational Tax Certificates
All commercial and residential businesses located within the City of Chamblee must apply for an annual occupational tax certificate – formerly known as a business license. The fee for this license is based upon gross receipts.
Restaurants and businesses that desire to serve or sell alcohol require a special alcohol privilege license. These are obtained through a separate application and approval process. By-the-drink alcohol sales are only allowed in full-service restaurants.
When applying for a City of Chamblee Occupational Tax Certificate for a business that is licensed by the Secretary of State, the applicant must include a copy of this license with the application. For information on licensing by the State of Georgia, you should contact the Secretary of State’s Office for Professional Licensing Boards at 678-207-1300 or check on-line at http://www.sos.state.ga.us/plb/.
In addition, if the applicant is specifically seeking a City of Chamblee Occupational Tax Certificate for a massage therapy business, the applicant must include a copy of their accreditation or certificate with the application.
If the applicant’s business is licensed by any other professional licensing organization, proof of this license must also be included with the Occupational Tax Certificate application.
The following applications and forms are available on-line for those who wish to mail their business registration applications.
