City Clerk's Office

The City Clerk's Office is responsible for maintaining the City's Official Records, the Financial Accounting Systems and handling clerical duties for the Administrative Department. The Assistant City Clerk, Municipal Court Clerk and City Hall Receptionist are under the supervision of the City Clerk.

Besides serving as a clerk for the Mayor and Council, the City Clerk is responsible for the following:

  • Prepares Agendas for all Scheduled Meetings
  • Prepares and Maintains Minutes for all Official Meetings of the Mayor and Council
  • Handling all financial records such as accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
  • Accepts and process applications for Occupational Tax Certificates (Formerly known as Business Licenses)
  • Accepts and process applications for Alcohol Beverage Licenses
  • Maintains Personnel Records for all Employees
  • Coordinates the Records Management and Retention Program
  • Processes open record requests for city records and documents
  • Prepares Notices for Publication in the City legal organ "The Champion Newspaper"
  • Serves as the City Election Supervisor for qualifying candidates for City Elections
  • Maintains all Financial and Campaign Disclosure records for Candidates and Elected Officials
  • Supervises the preparation, printing and distribution of the city newsletter and calendar
