Transportation
The Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) offers bus service and rapid rail transportation throughout DeKalb and Fulton counties. The Chamblee MARTA station serves the Chamblee area and provides a direct route to downtown Atlanta and Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport. The current MARTA fare is $1.75, which permits a continuous one-way trip regardless of distance or transfers. Trains operate from 5:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. daily.
DeKalb Peachtree Airport (PDK) is classified as a "general aviation reliever airport" for the Atlanta metropolitan area. It encompasses approximately 700 acres of land in the northern part of DeKalb county, the majority of which is within the Chamblee city limits. The second busiest airport in the State of Georgia, PDK's location, less than ten miles from downtown Atlanta, makes it the airport of choice for those operators of corporate, business and general aviation aircraft visiting the Atlanta area. The airport provides a wide array of aeronautic services, charter flights and rental car options.
Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport has the largest passenger terminal complex in the world with 28 passenger airlines to 128 cities and 12 countries.
